Is having a multi-faceted career the dream or a cause of burn out?
Our first limited flower press art piece is now available to buy!
When we moved to Somerset we dreamed of a home that would bring in multiple incomes, these would then eventually take over and Ryan would give up his data scientist job. There’s no denying it’s a great job but he simply doesn’t enjoy it. We even came up with a business plan before moving into this home.
Outbuildings would be transformed into holiday lets and we’d have event spaces ready to hire for yoga, craft classes and parties. Glamping huts would be set up. Festive feasts would be cooked within our vegetable garden under our pergola, focusing on the seasonal ingredients grown around you in our garden. And finally The Little Holding food van would be available to hire for all your party needs.
What we didn’t think about was that life would get in the way, other interests would arise and everything takes a lot longer and is way more costly than we imaged. Now add Grace and her mums new Wildly Pressed business, filming for tv and having a toddler to the mix and instead of us creating a multifaceted haven we slowly headed towards burn out instead. That’s one of the reasons there hasn’t been a YouTube video on our channel for 2 months.
We’re working on the right formula though and believe that we will get there, sometimes you just need to take a step back - which is exactly what we’ve been doing. Our first step towards this goal is launching our brand new website and this newsletter.
Wildly Pressed. Grown by us, pressed by us, created by us.
Grace and her mum have been busy setting up their brand new business Wildly Pressed, creating pressed art pieces from the flowers we grow in our garden at The Little Holding. Their first piece is live now with a limited number of signed prints up for purchase. We hope this will be the first of many prints up for sale and are very excited to give you early access.
What we’ve been loving this week?
🎲After a great board game to play with a group of friends or family? We played Telestrations last weekend and it’s now our go to for groups. It’s the perfect mix of fast paced, funny, creative but also simple to play.
☕Caffeine has been needed more than ever this week, our current go to is Monmouth Coffee’s Organic Espresso
🥓If you make one thing this week let it be this MOMOFUKU pork belly.
📺We may be bias, but we hear the new YouTube video by The Little Holding is pretty good.
Thanks for the read! Try to take it easy........ 🙂
