Would you drive 8 hours to pick up a canoe?
Ok, we didn’t drive all the way up to Newcastle just to pick up a canoe, we actually went to see Ryan’s family but it just so happened that his Dad also had a canoe ready for us to take and Ryan just so happened to have his roof bars on the car too? Coincidence, I think not.
What are our plans for this 3 person canoe you ask? For now, Ryan has put it on our pond. Yes the same pond we successfully turned into a wild flower meadow last year for my sisters wedding and also the one that looked like a swamp the year we moved in. Lake by winter, wild flower meadow by summer.
To add to our wild activities this week we also had our first attempt at foraging, Grace basically stumbled across a massive white football size mushroom in the garden, begged social media for the answers, was told it was edible and ate it. You know what they say, if keyboard warriors say its edible then you must trust them. We can confirm it was very tasty, we lived to tell the tale and did indeed do our own research too, don’t you worry.
So we’re pleased to announce that our future holiday accommodation will now also include foraging, quad bike rides, archery and canoeing - or possibly not once we see how high our insurance becomes. Maybe just pick your own veg, that feels like there’s less chance of an accident.

☕Coffee beans. We’ve been trying to mix up our coffee beans each month and this week we’re trying out Rave beans.
🏰Carcassonne in our opinion is the ultimate two player game, but it’s also a great group game too. Easy to set up, easy to learn and easy to expand thanks to lots of expansion packs. It’s a tile laying game and players build up their roads and cities by placing their Meeples down. We go back to it time and time again.
